Frosty's HVAC
Common Questions

What Are the Most Common HVAC Replacement Questions in Texas?

Texas homeowners ask most about pricing, the 50% deposit, install timeline, financing, warranty, and what's changed under the EPA AIM Act. Real answers below — no marketing fluff.

I'm Omar Jacobo (license TACLA126718E) — every answer below was written by me personally based on the questions Texas customers actually asked me on the phone or via email over the past 18 months. The R-454B refrigerant info is straight from the EPA AIM Act, and federal tax-credit numbers come from ENERGY STAR.

How Does Frosty's Pricing and Deposit Work?

Frosty's pricing works as flat real installed ranges — $8,000-$14,000 Stay Cool, $12,000-$18,000 Stay Frosty, $16,000-$20,000+ It's A Frosty Life — with a 50% deposit that locks in your price, reserves your install slot, and credits fully toward your final invoice. The deposit is refundable until equipment ships, and you can opt out of the 50/50 split and pay 100% upfront via Stripe.

The deposit covers your equipment order, locks in your price (no surprise upcharges), and reserves your install slot. The deposit is credited toward your final invoice — you're not paying extra. This model lets us avoid the high-pressure in-home sales tactics that plague the HVAC industry.

What Happens During a Frosty's Install?

A Frosty's HVAC install is a single-day 6-10 hour job (8-12 hours for heat pump or dual-fuel) that starts around 8 AM, includes drop cloths, shoe covers, full cleanup, and haul-away of your old equipment. You can stay home — power to HVAC is off for most of the day, and we safely recover any R-22 or R-410A refrigerant per EPA regulations at no extra charge.

Most single-system installs take 6-10 hours start to finish. Heat pump or dual-fuel installs take 8-12 hours. We typically arrive at 8 AM and finish before dinner. Multi-zone or multi-system installs may take 2 days.

What Equipment and Warranty Come With My System?

Every Frosty's HVAC system ships with R-454B refrigerant (EPA-mandated 2025 standard, 78% lower GWP than R-410A), a 10-year manufacturer parts warranty from Goodman, Carrier, or Trane (registered automatically), a 10-12 year compressor warranty, and a labor warranty of 1 year (Stay Cool), 2 years (Stay Frosty), or 5 years (It's A Frosty Life) — extended labor coverage is available for $3,500.

EPA regulations effective 2025 mandate R-454B (or R-32) for all new residential HVAC equipment. R-454B has roughly 78% lower global warming potential than R-410A. R-410A equipment is no longer manufactured for new installs in the US — anyone selling you new R-410A is selling old stock.
